blog i have not blogged, blog has changed so much. who even reads this anymore? today is best not to do anything i guess. today is best to actually put on rainbow fireworks glasses and watch vivienne westwood interviews online to clear my mind. i try though. no matter what is tried today is just going to the waste basket. its like the kind where it is a basketball net on the wall and through the hoop a garbage can follows to capture whatever. its like a good idea, a slam dunk to throw away my thought or project or something. it is a day to just not do. my mind is cloudy today in this universe 5/19/13.

i went to chobani and it was closed. i wanted to get some special yogurt. yogurt that came in a glass jar you could take home. my roommate went there once. i haven't been to the store yet. it's just in soho. i went to chobani and saw todd and katherine at the light, they both got new phones. it had already been closed for a half hour by the time i got there.

how do u feel?

there's something inside you, its hard to explain. glitter falls from my ceiling when i lay on a bed in my dream. everything is in soft focus and every twirl i see friends smiling, every beat theres a twirl and a twirl, a friend's smile... smiles at me and i smile and glitter falls from the ceiling.

RBMA KAIROS RSVP OPENING 2MORROW

since 1998 red bull has been setting up their music academy in major cities around the world. this year its in NYC.

about 5,000 musicians from a variety of styles and demographics apply while only 60 students are invited to participate in a 2 week opportunity of a lifetime to study with their idols and mentors with state of the art equipment immersed in an environment full of artworks.

i have been working on this project as associate curator to curator ken farmer of NBNY to create a space for art and music to co-exist. so please come check it out this monday, may 13, 2013 from 7-10pm.

there will be two days of public access on may 14h and 16th from 10am - 6pm. also, ken farmer will be hosting tours on 13th, 14th, and 15th from 5-7pm.

Ancient Greeks had two notions of time, chronos and kairos. Chronos represented a quantitative, measurable time--the ticking clock, while kairos represented a more qualitative moment, an opportunity to be seized. Recognizing the intense duality between urgency and anxiety that Red Bull Music Academy participants confront in their two week tenure, Kairos presents a selection of works to coexist within the Music Academy offering aphorisms, meditation, and comic relief as a temporal reminder of presence and opportunity. The exhibition represents a timeless time, the moment before the bell rings, the moment before the roller coaster dives, the moment before the glass breaks. It is a provocation to take time into one’s own hands.
